Adobe Licenses Transition Guide (July 2023)

Adobe Licenses Transition Guide (July 2023)

Starting in June, changes will be made to the current university Adobe license. These changes for the Anschutz Medical Campus include Adobe Acrobat Pro licenses available for faculty and staff by request at no cost and the Adobe Creative Cloud software suite available for faculty and staff at a reduced annual cost of $100.
Note: Students can Access Creative Cloud using this same process. To only use Acrobat as a student, see this link.
Your current Creative Cloud license will not automatically renew (will expire July 15th). You will need to opt in for either the Adobe Acrobat Pro or Adobe Creative Cloud options. This guide is designed to help you take the steps needed based on your situation. Find your situation below and follow the instructions based on your situation.

A. You have a Creative Cloud license now, using multiple Adobe products (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) and will need to continue using them.

Please contact Matthew Witt by email (Matthew.Witt@cuanschutz.edu) indicating that you need a "full Creative Cloud license" and include a speedtype ($100 per year). The transition window is from July 1st to June 14th, so please send your requests in during that timeframe to avoid any interruption to your access.

B. You have a Creative Cloud license now, but ONLY need the ability to edit and manipulate PDFs (Acrobat)

Please contact Matthew Witt by email (Matthew.Witt@cuanschutz.edu) indicating that you need a "free Adobe Acrobat Pro" license and include a speedtype (just in case they need it for tracking purposes). The transition window is from July 1st to June 14th, so please send your requests in during that timeframe to avoid any interruption to your access.

C. You don't have a license, but would like to request a free license to edit and manipulate PDFs (Acrobat)

OIT will only be accepting requests for new licenses after July 15th, so please wait until after that date to send a request to Matthew Witt by email (Matthew.Witt@cuanschutz.edu) indicating that you need a "free Adobe Acrobat Pro" license and include a speedtype (just in case they need it for tracking purposes).

D. You don't have a license, and just view PDFs on occasion.

You do not need to take any action. If you only need to view PDFs, you can download "Adobe Reader" for free from https://www.adobe.com/acrobat/pdf-reader.html

Licenses are assigned to individuals. Each individual is allowed to be signed into their Adobe account on two computers simultaneously. If you need Adobe products running on multiple computers (i.e., for a lab), you can request licenses for multiple lab members. (Lab member A signs into computers 1 and 2 - Lab member B signs into computers 3 and 4, etc.)
Note that students follow the same process for the full Creative Cloud license, but not if they need only Acrobat (see yellow note above)
